Bart Lambrecht
Strategic Advisor to the R&D Committee
Bart N. Lambrecht, MD, PhD is a physician-scientist and expert in inflammation, asthma and respiratory viral infections. He is Professor of Pulmonary Medicine at Erasmus MC in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, Professor of Medicine at Ghent University in Belgium, and Director of the VIB Center for Inflammation Research.
Dr. Lambrecht’s research focuses on the immunological basis of asthma and respiratory viral infections. His group develops innovative technologies and disease models to identify new therapeutic pathways and help translate scientific insights toward the clinic.
He received his medical degree and PhD in Immunology from Ghent University and completed pulmonary medicine training at Erasmus MC and the University of Sydney. His work has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Franqui Prize, the European Respiratory Society Asthma Gold Medal and the Paul Ehrlich Award for Experimental Research.
