Chief Executive Officer, Executive Director of the Board of Directors
Karen Massey is the Chief Executive Officer at argenx and joined the company in March 2023. She previously served as the company’s Chief Operating Officer. Karen has over 20 years of experience in the biopharma industry, including commercial leadership, product development, corporate strategy, and innovation roles.
Prior to joining argenx, Karen was with Genentech (Roche Group) for over nine years, where she served as senior vice president of product development and global clinical operations. She previously held various commercial leadership roles across marketing and business operations, including as the vice president of the multiple sclerosis and neuromyelitis optica business.
Karen started her biopharmaceutical career in marketing at Pfizer and has held leadership positions in corporate strategy and sales and as a commercial lead in Latin America. Karen holds a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Sydney and an MBA from the NYU Stern School of Business.
