Khurem Farooq
Strategic Advisor to the R&D Committee
Khurem Farooq, MBA is a biotechnology executive with more than 20 years of international drug-development, commercialization and business-development experience. He is the co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Verdiva Bio.
Prior to Verdiva Bio, Mr. Farooq co-founded and served as Chief Executive Officer of Aiolos Bio, which was acquired by GSK in 2024. He previously served as Chief Executive Officer of Gyroscope Therapeutics through its acquisition by Novartis in 2021.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Farooq was Senior Vice President of the Immunology and Ophthalmology business unit at Genentech, a member of the Roche Group. In this role, he led commercialization and launch planning for medicines in immunology and ophthalmology, contributed to late-stage portfolio decisions and supported business-development evaluations. He began his career at Aventis in sales and marketing roles.
Mr. Farooq holds an MBA from Aston University and a degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Wolverhampton.
